The Spot the Alien project was set-up to increase awareness of invasive species and to encourage reporting of them with an initial focus on 3 species:
- New Zealand flatworm
- Harlequin ladybird
- Red lily beetle
Reporting sightings of invasive species can help us understand the level of invasion, distribution, spread and ecology of a species.
