All other invasive species records can be submitted in a variety of ways:

  • Download Excel template, complete and submit by e-mail.
  • E-mail already digitised records in Excel (format all cells to text), Recorder 6 or Access.
  • Submit records through the Invasive Species Ireland Alien Watch online submission form. These records are accessed by Data Centre staff.

Other formats are also accepted such as MapMate but please contact the Data Centre for consultation.

What is a valid biological record?

For each record submitted, information answering the following questions is required:

Name of recorder Species name Date Grid reference Location name
Jane Doe Elodea nuttallii 24/07/2009 X011938 50m downstream of Tallow Bridge,Co. Waterford

Additional information can also be supplied such as abundance and habitat type etc.

For every additional record submitted to the National Invasive Species Database, a clearer picture of the status of that invasive species in Ireland is generated.
