Harlequin Ladybird (Harmonia axyridis) was first sighted in a packet of celery hearts in a supermarket in Lisburn, Co. Antrim in November 2007.  The only subsequent record is from  the Ards Penninusla, Co. Down in September, 2009.

If you think you have seen this Ladybird please first check its identification from the ID sheet below.  If possible take a photo and of its underside if you can and submit a record of it to the National Biodiversity Data Centre or to the Ladybirds of Ireland survey for verification.
