Potential High Impact Species
The Potential High Impact Species listed below are not yet known to exist in Ireland but if they arrive they could pose a serious threat to our natural environment. We would urge anyone who may know about the arrival of these species to Ireland to contact the National Biodiversity Data Centre as soon as possible.

Note: Since the STRIVE Priority – potential high impact species list was compiled Hemimysis anomala has now been recorded in Ireland. It has been found in Lough Derg and Lough Ree. Ludwigia grandiflora and Corbicula fluminea have also been recorded. See Species Alerts for more information.
The National Biodiversity Data Centre is currently focusing on collecting records for the aquatic invasive species listed above. If you see any of these species please submit a record of the sighting as soon as possible.
Records of other invasive species sightings are also welcome.
